With the introduction of the WHS Act 2011, the term “Officers” has been included in the area of responsibility.
An Officer of a business is someone who makes, or participates in making, decisions that affect the whole, or a substantial part, of the business or has the capacity to affect significantly the financial standing of the business.
The WHS Act has placed very specific responsibilities on anyone deemed to be an Officer under Section 27
Any Officer of the Person Conducting the Business or Undertaking (PCBU) you must exercise due diligence to ensure that the PCBU complies with duties and obligation placed on it under the WHS Act.
